The Best Cajun Hamburger Recipes Around
Making a perfect, spicy, Cajun hamburger at home isn’t as hard as you may think. Try this recipe and wow the guests at your next cook out.
Mix together the following dry ingredients:
3 tablespoons of dried oregano
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons salt
Keep the dry ingredients in a small glass bowl or throw-away plastic container. Do not keep these ingredients in a reusable plastic bowl as the spices will scent the bowl.
Now it’s time to make the burgers. You will need one pound of ground beef, preferably beef with a low fat content so the burger doesn’t shrink too much on the grill. In a glass bowl, combine the following:
1 pound of ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
cup onion, finely chopped
teaspoon thyme
1 clove of garlic, minced or put through a garlic press
to 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce depending on how “hot” you can handle it
teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon of the Cajun seasoning blend you created previously
Mix the ingredients together in a glass bowl and make sure they are blended evenly throughout the hamburger. Form the burger into four patties and grill on a medium to hot grill for four to five minutes per side.
